Barbara's first job was maintaining service personnel records for the U.S. Civil Service in San Luis Obispo, CA where Dale served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. After returning to Terre Haute in 1954, Barbara held various temporary and part-time office positions for several years. For the last part of her career, she worked from home as a free-lance word processor writing and preparing resumes, college papers, correspondence and manuscripts. She had a gift for the written word and loved to read, solve difficult cross-word puzzles and write special notes to her family and friends. Her beautiful smile was contagious. Most of all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Barbara attended Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for all the caring support and love that was shown to her from friends and family, and most especially to Wendy and Chaplain Ric of VNA Hospice of the Wabash Valley and her incredible team of caregivers on the 5th floor CD wing of Westminster Village. She loved you all.
