Barbara Ann Bilyeu
September 16, 1927 — December 18, 2018
Barbara is survived by her nephews and nieces, Bradley (Jeanne) Bilyeu, Jan (David) Swingley, Kris (Leslie) Bilyeu and Gail (David) Happel, along with, 10 great-nephews and nieces and seven great-great nephews and nieces as well as her cousins.
Barbara was a baptized and confirmed member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she attended regularly until her health issues developed. After graduating from Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute, she worked as telephone operator for Indiana Bell, General Telephone, and eventually GTE North before her work retirement.
Barbara enjoyed being a league bowler and member of a "miniature club" locally. Her family wishes to thank the amazing care managers at Bethesda Gardens as well as the wonderful staff of Hospice of the Wabash Valley for the kindness and comfort they all provided.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Funeral services will follow with Reverend Jacob Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 645 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807 or to the local charity of your choice.
