B. Elizabeth Casey, 95 of Terre Haute passed away late Friday afternoon, December 14, 2018 at Harrison's Crossing Health Campus. She was born August 26, 1923 in New Hampton, IA to Henry Klein and Anna Gardner Klein. Her husband, Howard E. Casey, preceded her in death in 1988.
Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Jane Mascari (Frank), Jerry Casey (Rhonda) and Jay Casey (Mary) all of Terre Haute; a sister, Rosa Fleming of Mason City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Burnett (Brad), Brian Mascari (Joy), Dustin Higgins, Katie Tanoos (William) and Sarah Avery (Tyler); seven great-grandchildren, Drew, Carson, Megan, Emily, Aaliyah, Marion, Jack and his baby sister on the way; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Klein and Leo Klein; and two sisters, Marie McClintock and Margaret Wellen.
Elizabeth was a 1941 graduate of Clear Lake High School, Clear Lake, IA. She was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she volunteered in the Soup Kitchen for 17 years and was a member of the Altar Society. Elizabeth had worked as a reading assistant with the Vigo County School Corporation for 22 years and was honored with the Terre Award in Education in 1989. The family would like to offer their sincerest appreciation to Harrison's Crossing, VNA Hospice, Mike Ellingsworth and Mary Hellmann for the loving care that they gave to Elizabeth.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 20, 2018 in St. Patrick Church, 1807 Poplar Street, with Father Dan Bedel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
