Anna "Anne" Louise Riddle, 90, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2017, after a brief battle with ALS. She was born on November 28, 1926, in Terre Haute, to Oliver and Ethel Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 63 years, Carl S. Riddle.
Anne was a proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by one daughter, Carla Henry (Rex), granddaughters Kirsten Morrison (Jason), Megan Cates (Chad), and great-grandchildren Benjamin and Sophia Cates, and William and Zachary Morrison.
Mrs. Riddle was very dedicated and highly respected as a teacher of English, Spanish, and French. Former students often tested out of Spanish classes in college as a result of the high expectations that she had for them in high school. She taught at Gosport, Pimento, Wiley, and Terre Haute South.
Her husband, Carl, was principal at Terre Haute North for 17 years and considered to be the #1 Patriot. Anne, always by his side at any event, should be considered as Mrs. #1 Patriot. She loyally and enthusiastically supported all activities at North.
Anne's Christian faith was very important to her, and she was an active member of the United Methodist Temple Church. She taught the College Class for many years. Her love for the youth kept her young at heart.
The family is very thankful for the wonderful and loving care that Anne received from Union Hospital, Hands That Serve, Westminster Health and Rehab, and Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
