Alyce Adams Hill, 90, of Terre Haute died December 5, 2017. She was born May 21, 1927, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Clara Bennett Adams and Roy Earl Adams.
She is survived by two daughters, Janellen Hill of Denver, CO, and Anabel Hill of Tucson, AZ.; three grandsons, J.D. Hill, A.J. Hill, and Carey Hill Smith; a granddaughter, Merrily Hill Smith; two great-grandsons, Kevin Hill and Sidney Hill Gordon; and a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Evelyn, and brother, Joseph; son, John; and husband of 65 years, John C. Hill.
Alyce graduated from Garfield High School, attended Indiana State University, and completed her bachelor's degree at Indiana University. She taught English at Woodrow Wilson Junior High.
She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and active in many community organizations, including P.E.O, Tri Kappa, the Service League of Union Hospital, and ISU Wives Club.
Alyce loved bridge, golf, crossword puzzles, reading, winters in Arizona, and baking. Always quick with a laugh, Alyce brought levity and warmth to those fortunate enough to be in her company.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. If friends desire, memorials should go to the Arthur D. Hill Family Music Scholarship Fund, ISU Foundation, Terre Haute, IN 47809.
