Alma Virginia Gilbert

Alma Virginia Thompson Gilbert, 73, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 in Southwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 24, 1942 in Terre Haute to Glenn William Thompson and Alma Virginia Overton Thompson. Alma was a companion for Union Hospital Home Healthcare. Survivors include her daughters, Melinda Beasley of Terre Haute and Tammy Beasley and her husband Frank of Brazil; sons, George Gilbert, Jr. and companion Cindy Paul of Brazil and Brian Gilbert of Terre Haute; brothers, Lloyd Thompson and his wife Judi of Dennison, IL and Vernon Thompson of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, Erica, John, Terrie Lynn, Frank, Brianna, Chelsea, Cody, Santana, and Jessica; five great grandchildren, Kenyon, Madison, Roy, Steven, and Rosabella; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Glen Bill Thompson; a sister, Rita Thompson; and great granddaughter, Payton Eggers. The family would like to thank Southwood and ViaQuest Hospice for their excellent care. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Kerry Ascher officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 1:00 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clara Fairbanks Breast Cancer Center.
