Albert James Rowe, 87, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully Friday evening, February 17, 2017 at his home with his wife at his side. He worked as a technician for IBM for 25 years before his retirement in 1987 and later worked for Opex Corporation for 10 years. Albert was born October 11, 1929 in Albia, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hermann; a daughter, Patricia (Melvin) Browning of Ohio; a step-daughter, Lauren (John) Pierce of Terre Haute; two grandchildren, John Effner and Brandy Tuczynski; two step-grandchildren, Megan Jackson and Rae Lynn Jackson; and five great-grandchildren, Morgan Tuczynski, Jacob Tuczynski, Zoe Effner, Abigail Effner and Brice Hermann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverlee Rowe; and a grandson, Chad Effner.
Albert served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Lawton Byrum VFW Post #972, Marine Corps League and Sycamore Country Club.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with Military Graveside Honors provided by VFW Post #972. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Thursday from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM in the funeral home. If friends should so desire memorial contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation
